With the first day of The Digital HR Innovation Week now complete, let’s take a quick look back at some of the main sessions, themes, and topics we discussed today!
Kicking off the event, Soumysanto Sen, Author of the book ‘Digital HR Strategy’ delivered a presentation on the topic of Digital HR Strategy – Achieving Sustainable Transformation in the Digital Age. Soumyasanto provided a succinct overview of how to develop and implement a digital HR strategy for today’s organisations in an environment that forces adaptation and existential evolution.
Following Soumyasanto was Rob Veersma, the Global Director Training & Development at Gazprom International, speaking on The Future of Skills and Learning. In this session, Rob outlined why it is essential for organisations to look beyond existing avenues of education, skill development, and established career paths, to re-invent the way the organisation approaches learning and career growth.
The next session was delivered by Ester van Eupen, the Head of OD & People Insights at VodafoneZiggo. Ester’s presentation – The Role of HR in Digital Transformation, Building a People Analytics Capability in HR, and Creating a Purpose Driven Organisation explored how VodafoneZiggo, a relatively young organisation born of a recent merger, has undergone a shift towards embracing more agile model – with HR a key actor in the overarching transformation.
Following Ester, Oliver Muhr, CEO at Starmind, delivered a presentation on Covid-19: How Can HR Professionals Lead the C-Suite Through this Crisis? Oliver provided some answers to a series of key questions that HR leaders need to answer in today’s global environment, spanning critical HR domains such as; workforce planning, skill identification, employee knowledge retention, and developing AI driven L&D initiatives.
Next up was a session on Building the Agile and Learning Organisation – and the Fundamental Role of HR in Supporting Personal Leadership and Cultural Transformation by Otti Vogt, the COO/Chief Transformation Officer, Challengers & Growth Markets at ING Bank. Otti’s passionate presentation sought to awaken HR professionals and business leaders, and push them to act on creating organisations that are increasingly self-governed, open, transparent, human-centric, and sustainable.
To round up the day, Marc Vontobel, the Founder & CTO at Starmind provided a salient demonstration about why Starmind’s intuitive AI driven products have seen an increase in usage during the Covid-19 period, and how they can help organisations create a highly practical, simple, and user-friendly skill map of the organisation.
