As change has become synonymous with current disruptive trends, Cragun suggests that constant adaptation is now one of the most significant markers of growth potential and strategic maturity for organizations.
As HR becomes an ever more integral business leader, they are going to be needed to help guide the adaptive organization and its people through a complex and ongoing period of change. They won’t just be tasked with leading change initiatives, but tasked with leading the organization through futures of uncertainty towards a an increasingly sustainable operational model.
As individuals, we might not like being forced to change, but as Cragun suggests, we all need to understand and appreciate the need for it. Leadership today and into the future will therefore depend a lot on the ability to guide people through change in a way that makes sense of an uncertain, yet exciting world.
